Big Jurassic Classroom
The Big Jurassic Classroom resources support the teaching of rocks, fossils and evolution, bringing the wonder of the Jurassic Coast to your classroom.
OVERVIEW
The Primary Science Teaching Trust has worked with the Jurassic Coast Trust since 2014, culminating in the production of The Big Jurassic Classroom book.
This free to download book brings together resources and information to show teachers how they can use their local environments to inspire interest in the UK’s geological history. The book includes exciting activities for learning about rocks, fossils and evolution. All the reproducible resources in the book are available at full size in a separate resource pack, also free to download.
The Big Jurassic Classroom book was developed by Carol Sampey (PSTT Area Mentor and Jurassic Coast Ambassador) with Ali Eley (Outreach Director).
In addition to the book and resource pack, all the materials developed in the initial phase of the collaboration with the Jurassic Coast Trust are available here.
Resources are available for 3 -7 year olds and 7-11 year olds.
