PSTT works with Initial Teacher Education providers to strengthen primary science within teacher training. Support is available through Primary Science Mentors and the Primary Science Enhancement Award, helping to develop science provision and build trainee teachers' confidence, knowledge and practice.
Our Primary Science Mentors provide tailored support for ITE providers and trainee teachers, shaped around the needs of individual programmes and areas of primary science identified for development.

The Primary Science Enhancement Award (PSEA) is a structured programme that runs across the academic year, supporting ITE providers to enhance trainees’ experience of primary science and develop their knowledge and confidence in teaching the subject.
The scheme is supported by the Association for Science Education, the Primary Science Quality Mark and the Ogden Trust.
