The Primary Science Teaching Trust (PSTT) is a successful educational charity that wants to see excellent teaching of science in every primary classroom in the UK.

In 2026 we are looking to recruit between three and five trustees with knowledge and skills in

  • Digital content in education
  • Fundraising
  • Leadership
  • Marketing

Equality, diversity, equity and inclusion are critical to our success. That’s why we believe that no person should be held back by any aspect of their identity, and that’s why we are committed to fostering an environment where equity is promoted, diversity is valued and celebrated, and everyone feels included. These values guide our decisions; strengthening our delivery for the teachers and their pupils we serve. We aim to see excellent science teaching in every primary classroom in the UK. If your skills and life experience might help us, please consider joining us.

As a trustee, you will have the opportunity to contribute to PSTT’s strategy, develop knowledge and leadership skills, and expand your professional network. We will also support your training and development as a trustee, including providing a ‘buddy’ if needed, and will ensure an inclusive environment throughout your trusteeship. To arrange an informal chat with an existing trustee, contact Wendy Woodsford.

For some trustees the time commitment is 4 days a year for trustee meetings, plus time for reading papers. For others, your trustee role can be shaped by your experience and your desired level of engagement. Part of the diversity we need on our board is a combination of the busy, who bring the insights of their current roles, and the time-rich, who can help with extra committee and project work.

Trustees are unpaid, but we will cover your expenses including childcare.

Below you’ll find more information in our Trustee Recruitment Pack and be able to apply by completing the Trustee Application Form. We ask that application forms be submitted by Saturday 10 October 2026.
