New Fellows welcomed to the Primary Science Teacher College

Nineteen outstanding primary science educators were formally welcomed as Fellows of the Primary Science Teacher College during a special celebration held at Thinktank Birmingham Science Museum on 10 June 2026.

The event took place as part of PSTT’s College Conference and brought together Fellows, trustees, supporters and colleagues from across the primary science community to celebrate the achievements of the 2025 and 2026 Primary Science Teacher Award winners.

The Primary Science Teacher Awards recognise teachers who have made an exceptional contribution to primary science education. Through inspiring classroom practice, science leadership and support for colleagues and wider communities, each Fellow has demonstrated a commitment to helping children experience high-quality science learning.

As part of the award process, PSTT visited every winner in their school to observe science teaching and learn more about the impact they are having on children, colleagues and their wider communities. Across the 19 Fellows, common themes emerged: a commitment to inclusion, strong subject leadership, meaningful real-world science experiences and a determination to ensure every child can see themselves as a scientist.

Lisa Percy, Director of National Programme at PSTT, said:

“It’s not easy to win a Primary Science Teacher Award. The standard is high. We recognise the commitment demonstrated by these teachers to their profession and to the children they teach. Each of them understands the role a quality science education can play in shaping the lives of young people.”

As Fellows of the Primary Science Teacher College, these teachers join a national network of educators committed to supporting and promoting excellent primary science across the UK.
