Make the most of the summer term with PSTT’s recorded outdoor science lessons.
Our team of Primary Science Mentors have created a series of outdoor science investigations for each age phase (3-5, 5-7, 7-9 and 9-11). Each recorded lesson introduces a curriculum-linked investigation that children can carry out in their school grounds or a nearby green space, supported by their class teacher.
Designed to be flexible, the lessons can be accessed throughout the summer term and completed at a time that suits your class and the weather. Each investigation introduces relevant scientific concepts and vocabulary while developing children’s working scientifically skills.
What’s included
Registered schools will receive from 26 April 2027:
- Access to four recorded science lessons – one lesson for each age phase, available through the PSTT website throughout the summer term
- A guidance pack – including resource lists, delivery guidance and key information to support teachers
- Curriculum-linked outdoor investigations – designed to be accessible whether or not children have previously studied the topic
- Low-cost activities – using resources that schools are likely to already have or can source easily
- School-wide access for £50 – registration covers all classes and children within your school
Each recorded lesson begins with a short teacher guidance section before introducing the investigation. Children are supported to develop scientific knowledge, use scientific vocabulary and apply working scientifically skills through practical outdoor learning.
