Programme Director (from August 2016)
Sue Martin has been a Fellow of the Primary Science Teacher College since 2011. Her teaching career began as a secondary school science teacher; she became a Head of Physics before taking a career break to raise a family and deciding to move to the primary sector as a specialist science teacher. She also set up and ran her own consultancy business, Wow Science!, supporting local teachers and also delivering CPD through national conferences and events. Becoming a full-time consultant, Sue ran CPD sessions and support for EYFS, KS1 and KS2 teachers, trainee teachers and teaching assistants, along with children’s workshops, holiday camps and shows. She has written and edited commercial materials for the TTS Group and Twig World and for various teaching magazines.
Sue supported a number of schools as part of a PSTT funded project to develop investigative science in primary schools and has developed PSTT resources. Before becoming Programme Director for the Primary Science Teaching Trust, Sue was Headteacher of St Martin’s School in Bournemouth.
