Meet Florence Nightingale in this week's Science at Work
The Primary Science Teaching Trust is working with Spectrum Drama and St. Mary's University to create opportunities to meet past and present scientists and to learn more about people who do jobs that use science.
Science at Work consists of weekly activity sheets about scientists and people who work in a science-related job. Children are encouraged to send in their questions to the scientist who will answer as many as they can in a video released the following week. Videos can be viewed through Primary Science Teaching Trust’s Facebook page.
A big thank you to everyone who sent in questions for Florence, and your pictures were fabulous. In the video, Florence talks about her life and work and answers lots of your questions – you might spot your picture in there too!
Next week, Science at Work will show how important Florence’s work is for medicine today and how to manage pandemics like coronavirus. We will be meeting two doctors: Zania, a scientist who researches how our bodies fight viruses, and Phoebe, a hospital doctor who is looking after patients with coronavirus. Click here to download the activity sheet about Zania and Phoebe and don’t forget to send us your questions and pictures by 3pm on Thursday 30th April.
