Important report on assessment in primary science from TAPS project
The TAPS project team have produced a new report - Approaches to Science Assessment in English Primary Schools. An executive summary, the full report and a summary for teachers are all available for download on the project's webpage.
The findings of this report are based on submissions from schools across England which capture current practice and the wide range of strategies used for both formative and summative assessment. Analysis of these findings has led to recommendations for future work in TAPS to develop approaches and tools to encourage a whole-school approach to link assessment for learning with requirements to report attainment against age-related statements in the new 2014 English National Curriculum.
