Increase the skills and confidences of all the SSL so that they are able to confidently lead training within their own school and beyond.

Increase the use of PSTT resources for the schools in North Tyneside. Ensure that they are aware of them, know how to use them, look at how they could fit it in to their current long-term plans and go back and train the relevant staff in using it.

Increase the amount of outstanding teaching and learning in Science within North Tyneside schools through the increased development of the SSL role and therefore the ability to lead and move on their subject.

Increase the relevance and frequency of good quality CPD for SSL within the North Tyneside area. This increase in CPD would be on a needs basis and therefore be of relevance to the SSL in the cluster. They would be going away knowing that they were confident in implementing the change within their own school and have brainstormed ideas with 7 other schools in the area that they can call on for support.

Develop a network of support for the 8 schools so that they are able to work together on projects and move science beyond their own school, sharing good practise, developing exciting opportunities for the pupils and looking at developing new resources.
