interactive whiteboards for effective primary science
This Continuing Professional Development unit has been designed for colleagues who have not yet got an IWB or those who are in the early stages of using one and are not too sure of their skills.
The context will be science and will cover work on QCA scheme of work 5E The Earth, Sun and Moon. An IWB is a piece of apparatus that allows people to see and work a computer on a large scale (on a huge screen) by the touch of a pen or finger.
Objects can be moved around very easily and software can be controlled as though you were using a mouse. You can also write over (annotate) anything on your screen. This allows a teacher to create a science lesson that has high standards of presentation, pupil participation and is finally interactive.
